So last night we had our first game after my rogue had died. I guess I should back up and tell you a little more about that character in the first place so you can have all the feels for my reactions in the game yesterday.
This was my second attempt at a Tiefling Rogue character (my first was in fact my very first character and suffered a horrible death a the hands of her party members...foreshadowing my friends, I should have known....and about 5 zombies that ripped her to pieces) and with this being my second attempt; I was a bit hesistant that she was going to die an awful terrible death after the second game (there's that foreshadowing again). But I was sticking with it and going to play her the best I could and fully envelope all that a rogue could do. I could sneak better than anyone else, I could steal in front of someone and they wouldn't even know, I could bluff my ass off-in short I was a damn good rogue. Then came our second game and we chase a BBEG (Big Bad Evil Guy) into another plane where we get trapped. We have this crazy horn and my character decides to blow it like the calling of the tribes to see what happens. As luck would have it, it opened the portal again so we could get out. The downside though was that she was immediately swooped up by a large flying gorilla; at which point her party members decided to shoot the shit out it, killing it and making both of them fall 80 ft to the ground. Now just in case you don't have this mental picture clear, let me Bob Ross it for you...there is a man on a flying gorilla that is carrying my character. So when we fall the order remains-my character, flying gorilla, BBEG-resulting in my character becoming the new special at IHOP. Once this happens, I figure that my party is going to be awesome and pull me out from under a gorilla/ground sandwich and heal me. That would be where I was mistaken...instead they harvested me. How do you harvest someone you might ask?? It's easy when you have a machine that sucks your soul out and turns you into a 0th level spell. It was more or less like in Bioshock when you can harvest the Little Sisters with that giant syringe. So yeah that's the end of my character...she's dead after the second game (told you about that foreshadowing didn't I?!). LUCKILY-my DM is great and worked it out so that essentially my soul would be brought back and I could play the same character. but in a different body. So kinda like Face Off-minus the terrifying aspect of Nicholas Cage.
Okay so now, it is our game last night and I am ready to hear about my new character. I have hopes that I won't have a penis and will still be somewhat capable to be a good rogue-then I get my stats. My DEX drops by 5 (which the main stat for rogues), my STR is upped by 5, and my CHA is upped by 1. My initial reaction is a tirade of profanities because with my DEX dropping so much I lost three feats, 3 ranks in my skill points, and essentially became the worst rogue ever. After some talking and working things out though, I was able to essentially only lose one feat (which I get to retrain) and will end up doing more damage. It shouldn't be too bad-but we will see. At least I can't complain about the fact that the party looted the shit out of my body and so I got all my old gear back. The main problem now (and really the more fun problem) is having my character get adjusted to her new body. I get to rp all that fun stuff out and really it is pretty fun when you think about a person who goes from being fairly average in size and everything, to being a giantess-or Lana from Archer essentially. This is where I am now with her...she is getting to know her new self and I think that with some retraining in feats and with the new gear I bought, I should be pretty adept at more damage output and being a better rogue. We shall see where our next few games takes her....
